James Comey blasts Rod Rosenstein, mocks departing deputy AG for thinking 'the country needs me'
Fox News ^ | May 09 2019 | Victor Garcia

Former FBI Director James Comey described deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein as not having “strong character” Thursday while appearing on a CNN town hall telecast.

“I think people like that, like Rod Rosenstein, who are people of accomplishment but not real sterling character, strong character, find themselves trapped. And then they start telling themselves a story to justify their being trapped which is, 'Yeah, he's awful but the country needs me,’” Comey told host Anderson Cooper.

Cooper brought up Rosenstein as Comey was responding to a question about a recent op-ed he penned, in which he wrote that the president “eats your soul in small bites.”

Rosenstein is just as sleazy as Comey is. I’m guessing that the DOJ kept him on so that they could squeeze him later.

Keep in mind what Comey is really saying here. He’s claiming to be a person of sterling character, unlike Rosenstein. Comey’s literally a legend in his own mind.

Image result for fbi comey clinton

From CNN, July 2016...

This was not his first time investigating the Clintons [Comey]

Nor his second. The email server probe marked the third time Comey has investigated Bill or Hillary Clinton.

His first run-in came in the mid-1990s, when he joined the Senate Whitewater Committee as a deputy special counsel. There he dug into allegations that the Clintons took part in a fraud connected to a Arkansas real estate venture gone bust. No charges were ever brought against either Clinton..."

"In 2002, Comey, then a federal prosecutor, took over an investigation into President Bill Clinton's 2001 pardon of financier Marc Rich, who had been indicted on a laundry list of charges before fleeing the country . ..."

"The Whitewater controversy (also known as the Whitewater scandal, or simply Whitewater) began with investigations into the real estate investments of Bill and Hillary Clinton and their associates, Jim and Susan McDougal, in the Whitewater Development Corporation, a failed business venture in the 1970s and 1980s."

Whitewater Convictions

Jim Guy Tucker: Governor of Arkansas at the time, removed from office (fraud, 3 counts)

John Haley: attorney for Jim Guy Tucker (tax evasion)

William J. Marks, Sr.: Jim Guy Tucker's business partner (conspiracy)

Stephen Smith: former Governor Clinton aide (conspiracy to misapply funds). Bill Clinton pardoned.

Webster Hubbell: Clinton political supporter; Rose Law Firm partner (embezzlement, fraud)

Jim McDougal: banker, Clinton political supporter: (18 felonies, varied)

Susan McDougal: Clinton political supporter (multiple fraud). Bill Clinton pardoned.

David Hale: banker, self-proclaimed Clinton political supporter: (conspiracy, fraud)

Neal Ainley: Perry County Bank president (embezzled bank funds for Clinton campaign)

Chris Wade: Whitewater real estate broker (multiple loan fraud). Bill Clinton pardoned.

Larry Kuca: Madison real estate agent (multiple loan fraud)

Robert W. Palmer: Madison appraiser (conspiracy). Bill Clinton pardoned.

John Latham: Madison Bank CEO (bank fraud)

Eugene Fitzhugh: Whitewater defendant (multiple bribery)

Charles Matthews: Whitewater defendant (bribery)

Ultimately the Clintons were never charged, but 15 other persons were convicted of more than 40 crimes, including Bill Clinton's successor as Governor, who was removed from office.[40]

As I recall Whitewater was just part of it. The Savings and Loan they all used as a personal account was the real moneymaker. Everyone involved went to prison BUT the Clintons. Comey was the one.

Comey is a great example of how one of the signs of mental illness is the persistent projection of the manifestations of one's own mental illness onto others.

Comey sees 'shredded souls' wherever he goes, men whose character has been compromised by others with evil souls. He believes he has a unique talent for seeing this, and he always points it out when he sees it. He sees it everywhere!

But as he trods the earth, his own shadow accompanies him. He mistakes it for another man and says 'see that poor guy is compromised, even evil.'

Comey! That's not Trump - that's YOU. That's not Rosenstein, that's YOU.

You blind, arrogant, mentally ill self righteous dope!

Sounds like Rosenstein flipped and is on IG Horowitz’s speed dial.

Ron Rosenstein saved President Trump.

I wouldn't put it that way. I don't think Barr thinks much of RR. During the no collusion announcement Barr introduced him as a career DOJ official with 30 years of service. It wasn't a very enthusiastic introduction. It was more like, here is your gold plated pen and see you later..

In case anyone has trouble understanding Comey’s code language, what he’s saying is that Rosenstein is not willing to lie to protect the Deep State. He [Rosenstein] is still pretty young, not a huge fish [relatively speaking] and can have a MUCH BETTER LIFE by sending the bigger players to jail, rather than rotting away there himself to keep them out.

Here’s my take - Rosenstein was straddling the fence, until he was able to figure out which way to go, in order to keep out of jail. Clearly, he was part of the spying and coup attempt - however, he then worked his way into a very key position and with that came options - which isn’t the case for the rest of the conspiracy leaders [starting with Comey, Brennan, and Clapper].

Remember the indictments against the Russians - When Rosenstein announced them, he went way out of his way to say that Trump and his campaign had nothing to do with it. Why do that - it certainly wasn’t required, nor was he required to answer questions to that effect.

Answer - he was leaving his options open. There was no way he could stop Mueller, but he could clear Trump, at least in that case, and he did.

On the other hand, he could have told Mueller to pack it up over a year ago...but did not. The reason - he wasn’t sure that Trump would survive, so he played it safe and let Mueller continue his witch hunt.

But now with a boss who means business, he knows that very soon the Deep State will FINALLY be exposed by the IGs. His only choice is to side with the IGs in hope of getting off relatively light.

In the end, he’s played it very smart, given his limited options once Hillary lost.

Good post.

One more thing. IG Horowitz does not have subpoena or grand jury authority. He can only compel testimony from current federal employees. I think Rosenstein stayed on to assist the IG develop his findings, and expect the IG reports release will coincide with Rosenstein’s departure which is the 11th.

Comey also threw Strzok and Page under the bus. Said something like it’s OK to have personal opinions about politics., but it’s not OK to let that influence what you do at work. The implication was that he himself NEVER would do THAT!!
