THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK
HAROLD ARLEN
THE WIZARD OF OZ: OVER THE RAINBOW
If a song existed that could epitomize the Great American Songbook, it would be this 1939 classic from the film. That octave leap in the melody at the very beginning grabs your memory and tugs at your heartstrings. This weekend is dedicated to various ways of presenting this masterpiece.
Of course you start at the very beginning the film. You dont have to be a gay man to appreciate genius, both in composition and vocal rendition.

This is a one-of-a-kind film clip of Judy singing on the radio during the war.
