It's a lot more serious than that if they've actually identified a backdoor. That ends the speculation.
Huawei has been so awful in so many business ways outside espionage. We sold to them and they were by far the slowest paying, often years behind and often never paying a bill in full. We had lots of bad debts with them finally written off. Selling through them was horrendous from a sales and project management perspective. Their field people in Africa and Latin America took orders from home HQ and getting decisions made was excruciating. Friends worked at their Oakland, CA office and hated it. They despised Americans.
