My Campaign for President was conclusively spied on. Nothing like this has ever happened in American Politics. A really bad situation. TREASON means long jail sentences, and this was TREASON!

Just find a youtube video to show you how to change the pads. Here’s one.

Good luck!

I do not see how spying on a campaign is “treason”. Illegal, yes, but treason?

Looks like it was covered well.

If you have slots cut into the rim, you can see the rotor, feel it for smoothness. If has grooves need to replace.

If solid rims, grab a wrench, remove the tire to see the rotor.

Pads are replaced in 10 minutes, both sides.

Go to autozone or similar and order pads. They come in pairs for both wheels.

You will need a pair of pliers and larger screw driver to remove the old pads

Directions can be found on you tube for your ride.

All are basically similar, some kind of wire clip to hold the pins in, which when removed allow the pads to be simply lifted out.

The new pads will be thicker, as they are new. You will need to press the caliper pistons apart with the large screw driver to get the new pads to fit. Assembly is in reverse.

The rotors are usually smooth. If you wore the pads down to metal, the rotors will be grooved and burnt, will need replacing, or the new pads will wear out that much faster, with less braking efficiency.

The rotors are usually held in place by the lug nuts, so when the wheels are off, they can be removed.

Again, check you tube first to make sure you understand before taking stuff off your ride, and get all parts needed before you start, unless you have another ride to get parts with.

if you go to mechanic, they will drop the wheels and inspect for you for a nominal fee, and will usually let you see how bad (or not) your rotors are. Aftermarket rotors from autozone are usually in the same price range as having them turned.

Good luck, drive safe!

So many on this forum anymore treat mindless cynicism as though it was a virtue.

I guess in their minds they believe it makes them come across as more savvy and discerning......It does not.

Thanks, Buddy.

Had a bear wake me up very early Monday morning — maybe he was after my ‘45 Dodge pickup instead of just some trash...

Come to think of it, the Dodge has bad brakes, too!

Disc brake pads are very easy to replace on your own and if you didn’t wear them down to metal your rotors ( which are two bolts away from another easy replacement) should be fine.
Look up youtube for easy instructions and save yourself a few hundred bucks.

He’s a great businessman, a legendary media personality, and he knows all about politics and building. But he needs a lawyer to stick a sock in it every now and then, and this is one time that he does, per my comment at #116 of this thread.

“It hands the Democrats a talking point...”

That’s the idea: Force the Democrats to repeatedly use the word in the media. Treason will replace Collusion as the subject of talking points.

Wash the brake area thoroughly, be very careful braking until you know it’s dry, and then see if there’s any unusual sound from the brakes.

” think its sedition, rather than treason.”

It is treason as they were working with foreign nations.

Trump plays semantics.....

What are the media going to say..... “well this is certainly not treason, sedition maybe, but not treason.”

They have used the term to describe Trump. All the way back in 2016 and there are lots of articles online that say the same.

Factory pads on a new car has metal tabs called brake pad wear sensors that start scraping against the rotor when that pads get low.....sounds like nails on a chalkboard.
That might be what you are hearing.
slight pressure on the pedal will often times make the sound go away.
anyways do-it-yourself is the way to go as far as i’m concerned.
I’ve saved friends and family mucho bucks by just doing it myself for them.
Usually takes less than an hour...or on my camry 30 mins..

Trump may be using the term treason for effect.

Like people use, or rather misuse, the term racism for effect?

Treason is a loaded word and most people immediately have a good idea of what it means. Like Trump often does, he keeps it simple and impactful, even at the risk of some literary license.

Apparently not. There is no way that what happened during the campaign can be misconstrued as treason. Illegal? Maybe. But treason is defined by the Constitution, and what happened ain't it.

Also, rotors won’t be deeply scratched unless you wore through your brakes and rivets actually were hitting the rotors—but you’d hear high pitched squealing and the car wouldn’t brake well.

If you warped the rotors from your braking, the brakes may be fine, but you’d hear and feel a difference as you gently braked. You’d notice a slight lurching and with your window open, you’d hear a pitch difference in the disc brake as you still rolled the car forward.

The Founding Fathers also set it high, far higher then most countries. The “Bloody Assizes” of Judge Jeffry’s was still in their historical memory. Marshall set it higher still! It even got set higher in practice by the fact that the Confederate leadership was not brought to trial for treason. They clearly met Marshall’s standard, however wiser heads prevailed. Back to our problem, there are plenty of major felonies to convict these people on without resorting to a treason indictment. Let them go to trial on that. It will be hard enough to conduct. A treason trial will be spun to look like a Moscow Show trial something out of Koestler’s “Darkness at Noon” ! Or do you want to control what the press can say about it? Beside at some point there will be a Rat administration again, “What goes around comes around!”. You do treason trials now, you’ll watch and cheer , later you’ll be in front of the judge with different emotions ! I would prefer that precedent not be set!

They have their own buzz words: “Constitutional Crisis” and “Threat to Democracy and the Rule of Law,” and accusing the Dems and Deep State of Treason when it clearly does not fit reinforces those buzz words and narratives.

They are criminals. They’ve subverted the functions of government and the rule of law above and beyond anything that Nixon’s plumbers ever did or ever could. They used intelligence and law enforcement for partisan political purposes. But they did not commit treason by any stretch. I’m sure they would have if they could have, but the opportunity didn’t present itself, so they didn’t. So the T word doesn’t fit, and it’s loaded with implications that can backfire.

Imagine this happening to a Democrat president. The word ‘treason’ would be saturating the airways. You would be hearing it thousands of times a day from media outlets, politicians and talking heads.
