DIY is fine but be sure to bleed those brake lines properly or Murphy will get you tomorrow.

Also if you just change the linings and don’t take the rotors somewhere and get them turned, Murphy will get you a little further down the road, with compounded interest.

But go ahead and DIY if you’re handy that way and you have a good garage at home. Personal choice.

I always figured that compressing the cylinder on the caliper acts like a reverse bleed at least it always worked for me.
just make sure the reservoir doesn’t overflow.

rotors are no big deal, in the end they usually only cost like 20 bucks each which is weird.
Best bet is to replace them at the same time i guess.

Back in the day as a teen with my old camaro’s i’d throw pads over completely grooved rotors thinking the pads would eventually fill the grooves and smooth out the rough spots lol.
But it worked.
Brakes are a very well thought out design, cheap pads over grooved rotors was still far better than being ripped off by a mechanic when i was a broke kid. :)
