“Someone who kills someone while driving drunk shouldn’t get the chair...”

I disagree. If someone willingly takes a recreational drug with a weapon at hand for use while under that influence and USES that weapon against a innocent person, they should get the electric chair. The situation was premeditated.

You’d have a point if the death penalty were a lot more widely used. As it stands there are so many other folks out there that deserve the chair that don’t get it that, in our present situation, it would constitute cruel and unusual punishment.

The most heinous crimes ought to be punished the most severely.
