I left my turds on the sidewalk in San Francisco...
My personal picture of homeless people was a high percentage of mentally ill, especially drug users, both former and current. Want to be poor and homeless? Smoke dope to your heart’s content. Liberals don’t want to confront this because most of them are users, too. Note that California was first to legalize marijuana.
Many people I know worked very hard and paid very high prices to buy homes in SF/Oakland areas in the past 20 years. They have sympathy for the homeless, but complain that they are often sleeping in their front yards, pooping in alleyways behind their homes, sometimes sleeping in unlocked cars. They never thought they would agree with NIMBY advocates. Some want to see and leave, but the market is so down, with homeless everywhere, you cannot vacate a house without break ins and squatting a regular occurrence. The police are overwhelmed, and have not Mayoral support, the sanctuary city stance gives homeowners no protection. Taxes are thru the roof with so many social programs that incentivizes the homeless to stay there. It is a hopeless process, and now California is imposing huge taxes for people fleeing California...Thank God Jerry Brown is gone, they are hoping the new Governor Gavin Newsome will help the situation, but so far, he campaigned one way, and has behaved another.
So, obviously, whatever Sanfran is doing is CAUSING homelessness.
Shame on them.
They need to gather up the homeless 100 people at a time and make them do a Thunderdome-style battle royale. Put it on pay-per-view and tell the participants that the final 3 survivors will split 50% of the revenue, while the city can use the other 50% toward cleaning up all the poop and other trash from their streets and sidewalks. Repeat once a month (or once a week) until the homeless problem is solved.
