So I read the article. These are described as supplementary ceremonies. Students attend the official ceremony.

While I wouldn’t do it myself, I see no issue here. Sounds to me like a cultural after-grad party that includes recreating walking across the stage in your gown. Maybe different music, different kind of speakers, etc. Sounds like a lot more guests are included, which is always nice.

Since they have completed the formalities, am I missing something?

Do you think the universities would allow whites to do this? If not, they are discriminating, (being racist)...
