LOL. That’s where I’ve seen them!
Where is the car in that photo?
Now that you mention it, I think they did have some wheels like that.
1980 Pontiac Trans Am.
Oh my.
Id like to take her out for a spin.
The car I mean.
The factory optional BBS wheels on my 2002 WRX were expensive, and a bitch to thoroughly clean all the nooks and crannies.
I understand the trend to all black wheels on 9off road capable trucks these days.
Fortunately its a low mileage, 8 year old car, so I just put my first set on last year but I found out they are custom ordered and not regularly stocked.
First time I ever noticed just how beautiful the rear end of a T/A really was.
the ride is going to be horrible and jarring on a regular road
Not to worry.
With what appears to be only a couple of inches of ground clearance, the first speed bump, pothole, slow turtle...
Will destroy the front clip.
Not actually on Illinois roads, maybe the legendary California highways?
Had one of those in root beer brown.
I liked brown girls back then too.
She was the fastest thing around
Long and lean, every young man's dream
She turned every head in town
A car-jacking looking for a place to happen.
My Mercedes Benz Unimogs came stock with 20 inch wheels.
The ride is great, but when you put the windows down, (newer one) or remove the doors, top and fold down the windshield (on the older one), you need ear protection.
Of course the 46 inch high 15.50 Michelins have some really open tread.
I have been told that you can hear the newer one coming from 4 miles away.
“And if you hit a pothole, much more likely to bend a rim with thin tire.”
Life expectancy in the springtime in a Northern big city: 1.37 miles.
If they don’t get bent, they will get stolen, while you are driving.
IMO, anything beyond 18” is nuts on a car.
If I could just pay the insurance on this car, I would retire.
“Yeah...check out the “Snowflake” wheels on the Trans Am!”
What car?
Fancy ford fusion with transam wheels. Looks cool. I’d buy on if I hit the lotto.
