Not only did I read the article I unlike you have working historical knowledge of SINO/US interactions in Alaska.
There are areas up there where our airspace is only Five miles from. Russian territory. Its a very narrow air corridor. Our jets flirt with each other all the time. This stuff was going on when I was in grade school. Occasionally it makes the news cycle.

So, given your working historical knowledge, these recent actions by Putin can be viewed in a total vacuum, without any regard whatsoever to what’s been going on between the US and Russia these past 3 or so years? ie, the Trump-Pence admin’s near complete reversal of the Obama-Hillary admin’s appeasement policy toward Russia? Or Russia’s certain frustration over the fact that the candidate they attempted to defeat Trump with (Hillary Clinton) lost the election, and that their elaborate KGB/FSB-styled plot has been exposed? This recent action by Putin wasn’t meant as any sort of “message” to the Trump admin?
Right. That is not news. Those bombers are old technology vs our super tech fighters by comparison. It doesn’t mean they should be ignored. Our B-52s are also old, but they have been upgraded for decades.

Surely you can’t be that poorly informed or naive to not know and understand the major turnaround in the Russia/United States situation now that team Trump won the election, an election that THEY, the Russians, working with the Dems, an increasing body of evidence is now showing, tried to fix for Hillary.
How Pres Trump has done a damn-near 180 reversal of the dangerous deals and agreements of the Obama-Hillary admin, their former patsies in the US, despite all the BS, smoke & mirrors, “tough talk” from the Dems on Russia, which all along was nothing more than a piece of the big picture scheme to help Russia restore their lost evil empire.
The Obama-Hillary admin did nothing but help the Russians militarily, through the various bad deals they made with them (missile defense, New Start nuke treaty, Iran nuke deal, URANIUM-ONE!). This as they (Obama-Hillary) practically crippled our own military!
This is the real point I’m trying to make and get across here. Do you seriously believe that the Russians would not react in any way to this huge turn of events in the Russia-US situation?? Forget the recent flybys, then, if that is where you are still stuck in the mud.

And you know that Alaskan NORAD Region intercept with the fighters and the E-3? I've seen a ton of them, and have participated in intercepts of TU-95s myself.
But sure, please continue to call me stupid. Once again, I maintain that TU-95s are cool. You, not so much.

Bill Clinton should definitely have been tried for treason after the ChinaGate scandal. He was caught, literally, ‘red-handed’ selling out our national security to the communist Chinese for campaign cash. I think it was actually about more than just money.
