House Speaker Nancy Pelosi snapped at White House counselor Kellyanne Conway after a tense, aborted meeting on infrastructure Wednesday, a senior administration official told CNBC.
“I don’t talk to staff. I talk directly to the president,” Pelosi said after Conway asked the speaker a question, according to the official.
The interaction followed President Donald Trump’s abrupt exit from a meeting with Democratic congressional leaders.
Pelosi earlier in the day accused the president of engaging in a “cover-up” by blocking White House aides from providing testimony and responding to document requests from congressional investigations.
The president responded by saying he doesn’t “do cover-ups” and that he could not work with Democrats on legislation until they stopped investigating him.
In a last-minute press event at the Rose Garden, Trump said he “walked into the room and I told Sen. Schumer and Speaker Pelosi, ‘I want to do infrastructure’ ... but we can’t do it under these circumstances.”

That is not a surprise at all. Interestingly, anecdotal evidence indicates this is far more of an issue on the Left than the Right, at least at the Presidential level.
White House domestic staff hated the Carters, Clintons, and Obama, but felt resepected and well treated by the Reagans, and the Bushes.

If this behavior of hers continues she will definitely be passing the torch to the most radical socialist (young and diverse, with new ideas for change!) elements of her party. She might be scared of that right now and is desperately trying to be “tough”.
You know what’s really appalling? Most of the Dems and never-Trumps went to him with their hands out for money before he came out as a Republican and declared his candicacy. Mitt Romney is a prime example, as are all the NY senators and representative.

Were I Trump, I would assign a staff member, preferably Kellyanne, who has the specific responsibility to channel communications between Trump and Pelosi. Even if they were sitting in the same room, I would demand that she address me by speaking to Kellyanne. She has pronounced her sentence. . . .
