It appears that while the President can fire the FBI Director, he does, in point of fact, directly report to the AG. So here’s hoping that AG Barr has a “come to Jesus” meeting with Wray, where he lays down the law about his expectations about Wray’s compliance with all of his requests for information. Like a number of Trump’s early appointments, Wray is a duplicitous weasel. The time is long past for him to “toe the line” with the AG and his President, or GTFO!

I don’t buy it. Wray had the Strzok smirk down pat, and his seeming inability to even recognize the mass corruption in his own department (much less seem inclined to DO anything about it) suggests to me that he’s part of the problem, not the solution.

Personally, I believe that what I think DOES matter, because if I express it well enough I’ll win people over to my way of thinking. If there are enough of them, elections get influenced. If enough elections get influenced, things can change.
Far better that than to sit back and believe some fantasy hero is lurking behind the scenes, doing the right thing - but we out-of-the-loop peons are just too insignificant to be informed what’s going on.

Any serious manager would be horrified at what went on inside their organization and do everything in his/her power to clean it up. Their top priority would be the swift restoration of integrity.
Wray is clearly not doing that. He strikes me as a shifty bureaucrat who is happy to sweep problems under the rug (at best) or cover them up with delays, dissembling, and distractions (at worst).
By virtue of Trump’s executive order every employee in the FBI now knows who their boss reports to and why resistance will no longer be tolerated.
Wray has effectively been called out and reduced to being a figurehead. He should be removed at a propitious time.

You are probably right. But we can hope for two things to happen that will EXPOSE his role in this scandal: (1) the emergence of documented communications that tie him to the scandal, and (2) one of his minions decides to implicate him to save their butt. Both are very possible, if not likely.
That said, exposure is the best we can hope for. He’ll never suffer any punishment beyond damage to his reputation and legacy.
