A federal judge on Friday blocked a Mississippi law that banned abortions once a fetus's heartbeat is detected, as early as six weeks into pregnancy. Judge Carlton Reeves, an Obama appointee, wrote that the law "threatens immediate harm to women’s rights, especially considering most women do not seek abortion services until after 6 weeks."

I now work with black women at an all-black church (I’m a volunteer). The kindest, sweetest women I’ve ever worked with. All of them believe in abortion. They seem to think it is a birth control method. Imagine! So I’m not surprised that a black judge would love abortion, too. Very sad.
The Southern District of MS has 6 seats. 1 Reagan, 2 GWB, 1 barky, 1 recent vacancy, and 1 vacant for over a year.
2 questions:
1) Why does the lone barky judge get the case?
2) Why is a seat in a solidly Conservative state vacant for over a year? (Hello Cocaine Mitch! Please pick up the courtesy phone!)
