I was an adult then and remember the phenomenon well. It was a different country then...still America. 9/11 sort of brought us together again for 5 minutes. But something has happened since which I fear is intractable.

I tend to agree.... To borrow a Don Feder phrase, “there are the real Americans versus the united states of history. There are not two Americas. The other side, the United states of Hillary, believes America is a racist, sexist, homophobic country and they are citizens of the world; the real Americans love the flag; the national anthem; the Constitution, and our heroic history. I can no longer fight for half an hour as I could in my 20s, so I don’t know what use I can be in the coming civil war — but I’ll try to do my part.
