Price’s pro-Welsh-independence party took 19.6% of the vote, beating Labour’s 15.3% for the first time in a Wales-wide election.Plaid Cymru (English: /ˌplaɪd ˈkʌmri/ PLYDE KUM-ree;[17] Welsh: [plaɪd ˈkəmri]; officially Plaid Cymru – Party of Wales, often referred to simply as Plaid) is a social-democratic political party in Wales advocating Welsh independence from the United Kingdom within the European Union.
Is this like America’s democrats?
Keep pushing for a re-do until they get the result they want?
This means nothing when we dont know what the rest of the voters wanted. Not all “leave” voters might have wanted to vote for a brand new party led by Nigel Farage after all. Seen in context, the Brexit party did stunningly well in Wales.
My Welsh relatives voted with their feet (literally) to exit in 1650. Walked to Bristol and boarded a ship for the New World.
Must be funny math.
“Brexit Party comes top in 19 out of Wales’ 22 council areas”
19 of 22 Council seats is domination for BRExit.
So, it turns out the men of Harlech will yeild after all....
The parliamentary system of government is an archaic hodge-podge of losers and desperados.
While I sympathize with the remainers, this vote was inconclusive at best (for the overall union of four nations) and a Brexit victory for Wales in particular. Wales voted with England for leave at 53%. That number may have gone down, but it’s unlikely to have gone down to 40% or lower.
In Scotland it is clear cut - 62% voted REMAIN and now we have 62% again voting Remain (SNP + Greens + LibDems + Change UK) versus 17% voting leave (Brexit + UKIP).
Wales needs to live by its confusion and join England in being cast out where there will be much gnashing of teeth.
Scotland needs to live by its decision and stay in the EU
