I know there is a lot of truth to what you are saying. Mitt Romney’s backstabbing public statements prove your point. In the not so distant past, McCain’s treachery and what’s her name, and Flake...
But after watching these televised hearings over the last year - I feel compelled to come to the Republicans’ defense a bit. What I heard was the Democrats, one-by-one, following some DNC scripted narrative, undertaking a shameless, character assassination against the President and anyone he tries to appoint, and in so doing, looking right into the tV cameras and lying to the American people.
Then, one by one, I heard Republicans on the committees calling out the Democrats for their lies, trying to set the record straight, telling the truth, coming to the President’s defense and to the defense of his nominees.
Yes, Mitt Romney stinks - he may as well be a Democrat, and I’m sure there are others like him, but that’s not what I see during the hearings. They seem pretty solid to me.
