The Home Secretary would like to see the UK exiting the EU by the current Article 50 deadline of October 31, according to his allies. Mr Javid joins Boris Johnson, Dominic Raab, Esther McVey and Andrea Leadsom in wanting to put the no deal option back on the table. The Bromsgrove MP said he believes the results of the European and local elections have made it clear that Parliament would allow a no deal Brexit, according to The Daily Telegraph.
However, he said the prospect of a no deal Brexit could only go ahead providing the necessary preparations were made.
In May, Mr Javid claimed he had directed the Home Office to make full sense of how to use the time before October and plan even more for a no deal.
Mr Javids allies told The Daily Telegraph that he knows Parliament could still try to prevent no deal and force an extension of Article 50 beyond the current deadline.
Former chief executive of Vote Leave Matthew Elliot, who is running Mr Javids campaign to become Tory leader, told Politico: Its all about delivering Brexit and to me Saj is best placed to do that.
Having known him for over 15 years, he has always had Eurosceptic sympathies.
He will want to see it through. He will want to see Britain leave by October 31.

It may be Prime Minister Sajid Javid who takes the UK out of the EU on October 31st with a no-deal hard Brexit
Yet another nation stupid enough to permanently stain their eternal history by putting a Muz name on the record . Sorry , does not work for me . Muz immigrants , change your names , like the Africans did , at least .
Yes, the smart thing would be to focus on 31 October and plan now.
The UK has dithered under May and the Remain crowd loves it.
Many still push for a second referendum despite recent polling....globalists love to re-vote until they get their desired outcome....then they claim the matter is settled.
Correct. They need to plan - they wasted 2 years with no planning for anything, no preparation
Can someone explain why 10/31 is the target, and Brexit happens, or it doesn’t, on 10/31? These Brit pols are talking that way.
Seems to me that 3/29 was the date, and due to May’s incompetence, a 10/31 date was set. A hard brexit is.. well... hard, and unilateral, so it should be able to happen today, or tomorrow... or any day prior to 10/31.
As that famous philosopher, Tuco, once said: “When you gotta leave, leave. Don’t dawdle, LEAVE!”
Out of Europe to where? Africa or Arabia?
[As that famous philosopher, Tuco, once said: When you gotta leave, leave. Dont dawdle, LEAVE!]
The former Stasi informant,Frau Merkel, and her minions in Brussels graciously granted Britain an extension to October 31.
Or it may be a guy who lied through his teeth in order to see to it BoJo doesn’t get the gig.
If the uniparty there has its way, the UK ain’t going anywhere.
But the thing is that there is no evidence of kicking in the shins. There is the Irish backstop and that is so that the UK abides by the Good Friday agreement it signed to keep the border open.
Like Churchill in 1940there is only one man who can save the UK at this moment - SIR NIGEL FARAGE.
The UK can leave tomorrow. The reason why all the Tory pols want to wait until 31 Oct is that on that date, if nothing is done, then the UK leaves the EU.
No one would have done any active part so no one to blame. Whereas if Bojo or Javid takes them out tomorrow then the day after he will get a few knives of blame in the back.
Macron and others don’t want to throw the UK out as they will then be blamed. So better for everyone to let the clock just count down and do nothing.
Pure cover yer arss
May is a practicing Christian yet she sucked. Some of the most morally abhorrent people I know are practicing Christians. I think many of them think going to church every Sunday gives them an inherent moral goodness that makes them better than everyone else. Maybe the emphasis on for go enessmeans they feel they don’t have to try too hard.
Sure. It's a legal thing.
Brexit requires the agreement of both parties - the UK and the EU. Currently there is a negotiated agreement in place that says Brexit will take place on October 31st this year unless both parties agree to a different date.
That is already in place. It's the current status quo.
By saying "We will leave on 31st October", there doesn't need to be any further negotiation. Whoever is Prime Minister doesn't need to go back to the European Union. They don't necessarily need to go back to Parliament - although Parliament may try and force the issue - basically, it's saying "We can do this without any more discussion."
Now, if whoever is Prime Minister can get an earlier agreement with Parliament, they can certainly take that agreement to the European Union and say "We are now ready to leave - will you agree to an earlier date" and under those circumstances, the EU might well do so - if an actual coherent agreement that has the support of Parliament can be presented - so it could happen earlier, but if the EU doesn't agree under those circumstances, the Prime Minister can then say "Fine. We already have your agreement on 31st October. We do not need to discuss this further."
We don’t need to have a backstop to keep the border open. Once we are free we can unilaterally decide to do so. What the EU does on their side of the border is up to them. I assume they will not hold figurative gun to Ireland’s head and force them to violate the GFA...
I believe all the candidates saying they will pursue no deal will do It, they know full well if they don’t, their party will be slaughtered by Nigel Farage at the next election.
