The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that an Obama-era rule change on how Medicare reimbursements to hospitals are made should be removed because officials did not follow the proper notice and comment regulations in implementing the formula.
The court ruled 7-1 to vacate the rule, with Justice Neil Gorsuch writing the majority opinion. Justice Stephen Breyer was the sole dissenting member of the court, and Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the newest member of the court, was not involved in the case.
The highly technical ruling and dispute involves billions of dollars in Medicare payments to hospitals. The court ruled for hospitals that had sued over the 2014 policy, which reduced their payments for serving low-income patients because of a change to the payment formula.
In 2014, the government revealed a new policy on its website that dramatically - and retroactively - reduced payments to hospitals serving low-income patients, Gorsuch wrote.

Great, but justice was delayed for 5 years.
Ginsburg voted. Kavanaugh didn’t.
I noticed all the comments against the decision under the article were irrelevant, talking about how it will make service harder to provide.
It’s not the job of the SCOTUS to make an unconstitutional law easier to implement.
What a clusterfork 0bamacare was/is/will continue to be!
Thanks, Nancy Pelosi! *SPIT*
So when will, ‘We The People/Taxpayers’ get our money back?
*SNORT*
thx...
I wonder if this situation is related to closures of hospitals in poor rural settings. I have noticed this in E. TX-the old and sick have to travel further north to Tyler
Can’t trust the Democrats. They had a chance to pass a universal health care bill. Instead, they gave us a mandatory health insurance law that does not guarantee care and doubled and quadrupled everyone’s premium and deductible.
They cry that something must be done about the high cost - but Obamacare was designed as a boondoggle for insurers and drug companies. They created the problem!
They say they are doing it to help the poor get access. But, they cut medicare payments to hospitals serving the poor!
Now they are campaigning on health care again. I’d say NO, you had your chances and you screwed them up. You lied, and cheated, you promised us but you gave to them. You cannot be trusted.
“...Obama-era provision...”

Too bad Obama just din’t use an EO.....

Also known as the Kenyan Usurpation. The Manchurian Candidate also comes to mind.
That's part of Bush43's welcoming of illegal aliens. The damage being done to hospitals specifically near the border was brought up to W at the time, and he made some comment worthy of SJWs, not someone that should be protecting America and its citizens, including those getting shafted out of local healthcare, and tax dollars.
You are correct.
Liberals say that we Trumpsters just want to get back at Obama. In my case, I am unhappy with every president since Reagan: Poppy and Baby Bush who wanted to make America be Mexico North, the rapist Clinton, and then the unconstitutional resident Obungo.
I would like to get rid of everything those four doofuses did.
Wow, Buzzi agreed with Thomas! That doesn’t happen often.
I partly agree with you. Reagan’s accomplishments and the fall of the USSR permitted the US an extended period of idleness. The Bushes were not so much bad as great disappointments — and they were better than the Democratic alternatives.
You’re not wrong...
Get rid of the forced flu vaccines for cash scheme. Anericans lost a trove of highly experienced healthcare workers.
Don’t worry though, their replacements will exchange their freedom and yours for money.
That’s nice, but a branch of government which has no power of the purse just blew an even bigger hole in the budget.
