MORGAN CITY, La. — The Democratic governor of Louisiana signed one of the strictest anti-abortion bills in the country into law, then traveled to a barge here to inspect emergency flood control efforts.
But John Bel Edwards couldn't stop the political deluge from his own party.
"Gov. Edwards' decision is dangerous and we will fight it," said Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the bill "heartbreaking." Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., labeled it "draconian," while Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., called his decision to sign it "outrageous."
Even the chairwoman his own Louisiana Democratic Party blasted the governor's support for the measure as "egregious and offensive" and apologized to all Louisiana women.

It's the first interview fair or even sympathetic to pro-life activists that I have ever seen on NBC News.

It seems that abortion is a litmus test for the Democrats.
Just as all good Democrats are expected to support homosexual marriage, transsexuals in locker rooms, global warming, gun control, socialism, among others —. They are also expected to support the most radical views on abortion.
. Will Edwards be kicked out of the Democrat party? He’s up for reelection this year. Will he be denied support, or get a liberal primary opponent? Stay tuned.

Exactly. Everything in the Democrat party is a "litmus test." You've got to take the whole enchilada, and the enchilada is always getting bigger and smellier.

Democrats for Life people are not fakes. They are are really idealistic and in denial about how much they are despised by fellow Democrats. But they are not fake.
Thank you for saying that. My parents were JFK Democrats who were against abortion. I was a pro-choice Democrat moving toward the Republican Party. With the help of my parents and God I woke up to realize my belief about Abortion was all wrong. I am proud to say I’m Pro-Life as for my parents. The Clintons showed up and Bubba announced he was running for president and the media fawning over him as the new JFK. My mother “Hell No! I don’t trust him”. My parents became Republicans. LOL
Edwards is a real Catholic. He is pro-life and has no allusions of higher office. Louisiana politics are strange. There are plenty of pro-life Catholics in the state that vote for pro-life democrats at the state level and at the national level vote Republican. The biggest hypocrite in Washington is “pro-life” Catholic Joe Manchin. He runs as a pro-life US senator, but gets to Washington and votes like a typical democrat on abortion. But in WV they like the lying SOB and keep electing him time after time. He was WV governor for years then ran for the US Senate say he was running to get rid of Obamacare and even had an ad of him using an ObamaCare poster for target practice. The minute he was elected he supported ObamaCare. He runs as a conservative, gets just enough voters to believe him, then votes like your typical democrat. I would love to see the voters of WV send him packing.

Again, all this talk about bipartisanship, reaching across the aisle....it's all a ruse to get Republicans to water down THEIR beliefs, not the other way around. Democrats rarely meet halfway.
Joe Lieberman supported abortion on demand and other leftist policies but dared to support Bush on Israel and the War on Terror, and was still drummed out of his party in 2006.
I’m glad you mentioned this. I’m Catholic and a good many of the older parishoners at my church are lifelong Democrats who are pro-life and are against gay marriage and homosexuality in general, and some are quite open about their views on these issues. Yes, these kinds of Democrats do still exist, and there are more of them than Lizzie Fauxahontas and the kooks running the RAT Party care to admit are in their ranks!
Democrats supports Homicide...of people of all ages...from the unborn to the aged...they love killing....
