Leftists would say “same-gender teams”. Sex and gender are not synonymous. The issue with sports teams, change rooms and bathrooms is biological sex, not the social-psychological construct “gender”. Don't conflate the terms — that just plays into “their” hands, and makes rational discussion of the issue impossible.
