“Because the prophet — peace and blessings on him — commanded the breaking of it [the cross].”
Can anyone find this command in the Koran? Or is it just another one of the demands of the early Caliph Omar?

it's a Hadith. The thing is that i increasingly don't believe that Muhammad existed as a single person. It seems apparent to me - the word muhammad is used 4 times and each time it is used as a title meaning praise-worthy one.

It started out in the Quran as a Gnostic version of Jesus
