Illinois Catholic bishop denies communion to two pro-choice Democrats after calling abortion an 'abominable crime' (full title) as the state looks to expand women's rights. Bishop Thomas Paprocki of the Diocese of Springfield targeted two Democratic leaders of the Illinois state legislature because of their stance on abortion.

Speaker of the House Michael Madigan and John Cullerton, who leads the state Senate, are barred from 'the most sacred aspect of our Catholic faith'. The Illinois legislature this month passed a bill stripping away a number of restrictions on abortions in the state that have existed for decades. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker is expected to sign the new abortion bill into law .

'To support legislation that treats babies in the womb like property, allowing for their destruction for any reason at any time, is evil,' the bishop said in a statement."

The bishop of Springfield made the same kind of decree against Democratic Senator Dick Durbin in 2018, after he prevented the passage in the US Congress of a restrictive law on abortion. During the 2004 US presidential campaign, bishops put out a statement saying Catholic politicians who support abortion, including Democratic candidate John Kerry, may not be worthy of receiving communion.

Needs to happen much more often.

If we can get rid of all the leftists and predatory faggots in the hierarchy we'll see more of this.

This bishop knows he has to answer to God for either contributing to or not contributing to desecrating the Eucharist

That’s all.

I suppose that Francis will take this holy bishop to task. Have his scepter as it were.

The bishop’s action is long overdue, and I wish other bishops would follow his lead. Out here in Washington, Seattle Mayor Jennie Durkan (proud lesbian), AG Bob Ferguson, and Senator Patty Murray are all, I believe, Catholics, and all are as aggressively pro-abortion and pro-homosexual as you can get. It’s a scandal.

Has popie Frankie condemned the bishop yet?

Will the bishop be forced to “clarify” his statement?

Hope close is Bishop to retirement?

“I guess they would have to bother to attend Mass for any impact !!”

California Rats go, to show how pious they are, and to flaunt their communion despite their murders.

Genesis 4:10

10 And the Lord said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to me from the ground."
