The video is not exactly clear but it looks like he’s holding a pistol. If so he was brandishing.
If he had been holding a pistol, he would have been shot with bullets, not just a pepper ball.
If you look at the whole video, a liquid comes out of whatever he is holding in his right hand when he is hit, and again after he is down.
Maybe an energy drink can.
OTOH, when he kicks the smoke canister back at police he is clearly participating in the riot -- no money for you.
