Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) spoke at the final day of Turning Point USA’s Young Women’s Leadership Summit Sunday and criticized unnamed leaders across the country for embracing a feelings-based governing approach. The South Dakota governor gave the crowd of young women a little background on her initial entry into the political sphere. She took over her family’s farm after her father passed away, but about a month after his untimely death, she received a letter from the IRS, notifying her of owed “death taxes.” “It was devastating for us,” she told the crowd. “You can imagine as farmers you have a lot of land, you have cattle, you have machinery, but you don’t have money in the bank.” “When I got this letter in the mail, it made me angry,” she continued. That letter, she said, started her political journey. “I was the first female governor ever elected in the state of South Dakota,” she said, adding that people “talked about that a lot.” “I had several people…that told me that they didn’t think I had the right body parts to be governor– that being the CEO was a different type of a job,” she continued. She warned the crowd of young women against listening to naysayers who might dismiss them simply because of their gender or another related factor. “I didn’t want people to vote for me because of my gender,” she said. “I wanted them to vote to me because I was the right person for the job.” However, far too many leaders– men and women alike– allow their feelings to dictate their decisions. This, Noem said, is out of balance. “Today we have a lot of people serving in office that are governed by feelings,” she said, noting the crucial role feelings play in interpersonal relationships.

She doesn’t know this, but one of Kristi Noem’s greatest regrets in life was that she didn’t have a chance to meet me before she married someone else. :-)

I remember making a small donation to her campaign when she first ran for Congress. I’ve never regretted that donation. I hope that sometime in the future we’ll see her in the US Senate.

I remember when the television and radio talk shows 0f the ‘70’s were utilized by the Democrats (communists) to teach Americans to be governed by their feelings, laying the groundwork for today’s easily manipulated voters.

Most of the public doesn’t know that we have a part called the “intellect.” (Maybe it’s because they don’t have one.)
But they sure know about the reptilian functions, sex, and the emotions.
Those governed by feelings HAVE BEEN easily deceived and manipulated.
They believe men can be women, socialism is good, queer is normal and Earth dies in a decade (again).
Gee, I wonder who is most governed by their feelings...
Feelings are human, and they are also energy.
But our nation is one of laws, and policy is established by logic and fact. We are governed by the greatest document ever written concerning the establishment of a free republic, The US Constitution. Feelings are not the basis of governance and cannt be substituted for law.
Our nation is scourged by feelings which result is the selective enforcement of laws.And when politicians can manipulate feelings as Obama did, we are well on the way to a totalitarian socialist state which ignores or subverts the Constitution itself. Witness how feelings have been the basis for the attempted overthrow of a duly elected president of our country. That effort still continues, and we as a People need to bring it to a halt by electing Republicans who support our President in November of 2020, lest we fall into the web of tyranny established by Obama and his liberal fascist movement; which has attempted to destroy our nation , establishing sanctuary cities and states, ruled not by law, but by “feelings.”
These feelings were the reason that Hillary Clinton was not summarily prosecuted for her violation of national security laws.Feelings are the reason that the Steele dossier was used to fraudulently obtain FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign in 2015/2016.The list of feeling based illegality goes on and on.
The left in this country must suffer ignominious defeat at the ballot box.
