I’m really not gung ho on deporting old timers who stayed out of trouble and self-supported with menial jobs all these years. Some still pulling asparagus, etc., around here. Should be the very lowest priority.
I knew some thieves. Really nice guys, actually. They just liked other people’s stuff. They’re older now. Still thieving, but older. Leave ‘em alone?
The problem is that only 2% pick veggies. They have taken over virtually all mid level jobs where I live. When I first moved here, most employees were making $16 per hour, and that was 18 years ago. Thanks to the invasion, they now make minimum wage with cut hours so they can’t get healthcare. No healthcare benefits. No personal days or sick days.
In my state, if you work 7 hours per day, they only have to give you one ten minute break per day! My employer gave us a single 15 minute break out of the goodness of their hearts. At 8 hours, you get 2 - 15 minute breaks and a 1/2 hour lunch, plus benefits. What a difference 1 hour makes.
