It’s not that we don’t have the media and their owners running the country and very little constitutionality. Clearly when the oligarchy is inside the WH fully, they cover for treason and sedition, and clearly when they don’t own us 100%, they throw around those terms on our guys. If anyone is interested, try to find articles about his libel suit in England against a member of the British parliament (possibly named Kane) who read something about Burchett from the Congressional Record and was successfully sued for it.
HOWEVER, while Burchett won a dollar or two for being “libeled”, it didn’t mean the same thing as in US law. In England, you can be “libeled” even if what is said about you is the truth, which it was in this case. British law however, if I recall correctly, screwed up in their decision because what Kane was quoting from (either/or the Congressional Record or the SISS sworn testimony by Burchett’s KGB recruiter, Yuri Krotkov) was protected by congressional immunity (at least for use in something written/said in the US).
The Brits, as usual, get everything backwards. What saved Burchett’s life was that Australian/British POWS of the Red Chinese in the Korean War weren’t given a chance to testify against him (if the case had been held in Australia and I don’t think they were invited to England though they offered to go there for it).
However, the British and Australian press published much of the lawsuit/court case in their papers so Burchett’s real identity as a Communist and Soviet agent was exposed for all to see.
This is what the NY Times conveniently left out of their descriptions of him when they printed his propaganda columns on their Op-Ed pages.
If I had to guess, I would think criminal conspiracy.
