On both sides, the word ‘treason’ is shaken about like salt on chips.

No. If it involves the New York Times, it is treason. Nothing "shaken" about it. President Trump is 100% right.

The New York Times seeks the destruction of the United States of America that we know and love, and wants it replaced with some kind of Venezuela type socialist hell hole.

It would be highly irresponsible if not actual treason to make a false claim about something so capable of inflaming tensions between nuclear powers. If the U.S. is not in fact doing any of the things claimed, then somebody with evil motives created the story. If the U.S. is doing what is claimed, then reporting on it could easily violate national security standards (and one would expect the President not to confirm such actions in public).

With the 2020 elections looming larger, disinformation whether of this sort, or potentially with regard to actions such as those in the Persian Gulf, could endanger many lives just to promote the interests of a political party.

These two seemingly unrelated stories have one common theme, they attempt to embroil the Trump administration in some sort of overseas crisis which would presumably erode support for Trump in 2020. This is why I distrust both stories to some extent, and will distrust any others that have that same effect.

On both sides, the word ‘treason’ is shaken about like salt on chips.

Part of the reason for it is that one side - ours, has a genuine case against people, and does NOTHING to bring them to justice. Ever.

And our elected representatives (Trump aside, of course) say NOTHING, vote themselves pay raises, and wait for the next “break” so they can take a rest from their hard work sitting in Washington, accomplishing absolutely nothing.

It’s a sign of desperation by the Libs who have only lies to drive their agenda. Treason is a terrible thing, but it accurately describes the depths to which the Libs are now conducting business to advance their Communist agenda to takedown America. They thought they had it done with Obozo and Hitlery, but now it’s all gone into the crapper. Severe depression and desperation mark the unraveling of this latest sixty year plan. It also proves they are not as sophisticated in deception as they thought they were. However, we should not boast because if it were not for Divine Intervention they may have succeeded. They came within a whisker of overthrow on this latest effort. They will be back.

So, why are you here this morning and effectively supporting the known American enemy, the New York Times?

I’m not sure about the term treason. But for two and one-half years, dark forces, including media, have conspired to overthrow and remove from office, the POTUS that we elected to serve us.

How about sedition?

Sedition, crime against the state. Though sedition may have the same ultimate effect as treason, it is generally limited to the offense of organizing or encouraging opposition to government in a manner (such as in speech or writing) that falls short of the more dangerous offenses constituting treason.

The publication of seditious writing (“seditious libel”) or the utterance of seditious speech (“seditious words”) was made a crime in English common law. Modern statutes have been more specific. The display of a certain flag or the advocacy of a particular movement such as criminal syndicalism or anarchy have been declared from time to time to be seditious. In the United States after World War II, loyalty oaths were imposed for some government officials, and investigations and dismissals of certain public employees were made on the basis of their associations with suspect causes and groups.
