I agree with most of what you wrote except that most Democrat members of Congress think that this conspiracy to get rid of Trump never existed. For example Ro Khanna said in a CNN interview that James Baker said the Christopher Steele dossier had nothing to do with the Trump Russia investigation. Ro Khanna believes there was nothing wrong with the Trump Russia investigation. Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want impeachment because the senate will never convict Trump (I think 53 Republicans and Joe Manchin will vote no) and even independents will pay attention and realize the Democrats spent 2019 and 2020 on impeachment, not on the people’s business. The impeachment attempt will reelect Trump.

I count 61 FOR impeachment: 47 Democrats (they ALWAYS stick together), Sasse, Murkowski, Toomey, Burr, Collins, Romney, Rubio, Tillis, Portman, Lee, Shelby, Alexander, McConnell and Paul. Possibly Graham and Cruz.
Let’s look at the possibility that the Senate does convict President Trump. This could then create an “open season” on all who voted to convict. Lives would be lost, not only the Senators but the house members that voted to impeach.
The ensuing bloodshed would be horrific. The intent of the Founders would then be realized. The People, armed constitutionally, would rectify the wrongs of those that acted in perfidy, treachery and with treason in their hearts.
