I remember Black Panthers with truncheons. Where’s the iconic photo of people open-carrying outside a polling place?
All the msm had it up as I remember. /s
Thom Hartmann (note the pretentious spelling) is one of the lefts best propagandists. He cherry picks facts to present arguments and omits context with great skill. A deceiver of the worst kind. He has referred to Sanders as Americas Senator.
Now it’s coming back to me....something about our cracker Attorney General not wanting to prosecute “his people.” Whitey catches all the breaks.

The problem with this line of thinking is that kids toys are nowhere mentioned in the Constitution whereas the right to keep and bear arms *is* mentioned...as is a guarantee that the right to do so “shall not be infringed”.
So,Tom....a Constitutional amendment is the answer. But fear not,pal...38 state legislatures will be a piece of cake given the universal clamor for a gun free nation that you claim exists!
BWAHAHAHA!

No offense but, IMO, the problem w/ YOUR line of thinking is the premise of “if it’s NOT in the Constitution, govt can do XYZ”
In your example, we then get into the questions of A) Define toy B) age limits there-of C) WHO sets ‘standards’...etc. IOW: An never ending ‘industry’ of govt GROWTH and Citizen/Rights trampling
HERE is all one needs to know about the 2nd Amendment. The highly suppressed 1982 Senate report on the 2nd Amendment, 97th Congress. Now out of print. Bet you can’t find a complete copy on line! I have a paper copy I got back in 1984.

“The conclusion is thus inescapable that the history, concept, and wording of the second amendment to the Constitution of the United States, as well as its interpretation by every major commentator and court in the first half-century after its ratification, indicates that what is protected is an individual right of a private citizen to own and carry firearms in a peaceful manner. “
Now you see why it is so suppressed.
Note some of the names on the report are still in office today. But that was way back in the last century before the “enlightenment”. LOL!
The car thing falls apart. You don’t have to have a driver’s license to own a car. You don’t have to get license plates if you don’t take it out in public, just keep it on your own property. You can drive it on your own property without a driver’s license. Nobody official has to know you have it. (All this is accurate so far as I know, but different states may have different laws I don’t know about.)
Your move, RATner.
Increase in font size regulations.
Nope, nothing at all. What a load of horse Hillary.
Ratner proves anyone can sell anything
