I actually wear accusatory labels as a badge of honor. I have the courage to share my opinions whether anyone else agrees or disagrees, and I endeavor to refrain from name calling in response to others here.
How far back does you history of the US and Iran go? Not all conflicts and wars are created equal. The fatigue we all feel (retired paratrooper and diplomat here) may well be the same. However....
Iran and North Korea are special cases. One has festered since, essentially 1947. The other was perpetrated by the French who bestowed that meanie Kommanie upon us in Nov 79.
Both nations use their declaration of war upon the US as a constant point of salvation.
The diplomacy with N.Korea is to cut off the missile and nuclear tech from Iran (and Syria). Nothing more to be gained in those negotiations and certainly not peace or reuniting with the South at this time which would require a midnight insertion of joint forces on N.Korea’s borders with China and Russia, essentially a form of stealth insertion of NATO or US troops to protect the new United Korea - ain’t in the cards yet.
Iran is going Nuclear in the next six months. These are not false flag operations happening and it is not John Bolton, nor Trump’s fault, and it is not the work of our covert agencies or DOD. Iran is the most actively engaged state sponsor of terrorism. In their holy city of QOM resides the remainders of AQ families and LTs. In their embassies they have held US citizens hostages. Thru their own proxies they continue to wage war on civilians, soft targets, military and others in every nation on earth - their recipe for war is to first attack companies, then dip missions, and finally US Citizens. Direct war with them is GOING TO BE messy and nasty.
No matter what happens in the ME, Iran will hold the US hostage in their 3D civilian attacks anyway. Just as we hold them responsible for our proxies. Thus it is not that simple.
The only way the US gets out of the war business is to cease existence as a Nation State. Even if we were the weakest or in the middle of the pack, there is always some tinpot dictator willing to attack their neighbors.
Wear your badge. Just the person who will not label themselves as a choice either a republican or democrat, but rather an independent....
There are two choices in the end, no, unless you consider Trump a third way at the expense of the GOPe but even Trump must work within the two party system which unfortunately is our system of government. Socialism has a better chance than Free Market Government just because one side will break rules as Obama has been shown to do.
Until you realize there are two foreign policies, one the democrats which you most closely mirror and the republicans, you will be lost and one of the usual suspects. That’s all I’m pointing out to you.
