My gosh, don’t give them even more tyrannical ideas.

Different licensing levels?

How about this - since even illegals have the right to a driver’s license in the 13 states they most gravitate to, how about we eliminate driver licensing all together?

Got no problem with that.

I had conceived of a system a long while ago that gave people a dart gun with 10 darts per month. You tag a vehicle that does something dangerous/erratic/screwy to alert the police. If a driver gets enough darts, cops pull them over and their car is impounded for a month. Takes a special tool to remove the darts.

Might be hard to implement... but would solve a lot of problems.

The right to free passage is an ancient common law right. The fact that an automobile is the modern incarnation of that right does not change a thing. The fact that the state builds roads on common law right of ways does not change a thing.

Again, the fact that the state requires a license does not in fact turn a right into a privilege.

Driving is the controlled operation of a vehicle for which there is no need to demonstrate a level of competency before a state actor. Many people drive without having demonstrated their competency before a state actor. Driving as a right only implies that driving should be free from restrictions by the government, nothing else.

NOTHING about the DL stops you from free passage. All the DL does is allow you to drive on public highways.
