The standard sentencing range for his crime is 6 to 13 months. He served almost 9 months. Judge Nicole Gaines-Phelps sentenced Carranza-Ramirez to credit for time served with no community custody.
I think that sentence only encourages a lot more rape.

Horrible that he got a short sentence and was released. He should have been handed over to Mexican authorities and they should have jailed him for life on one of their most horrible prisons.
And a bit of aside, too bad the poor woman didn’t have a gun and was taught how to use it, if her brain and arms were OK.
