A multiday horseback ride used to be held in the Black Rock Desert area.

The BLM shut it down——because the ‘horse’s hooves were damaging the environment-—but there are multiple wild horses out there. We saw them every night & morning.

I never saw more than 60 riders a day participate in that event.

BUT-—research how many people are allowed to attend the Burning Man activities every year——I can guarantee it is more than the 60 riders I knew.

Don’t expect consistency from government, of course, especially the federal government.

The most egregious recent example is the killing of endangered species of birds, for example eagles.

A friend of mine works for the local utility. They were erecting new power lines over federal land, which involves both ground work preparing the footings and helicopter flights carrying the large towers and putting them in place. There was a full-time federal inspector on site, whose only job was to watch the airborne work to see if any birds, especially eagles were killed. Some were, it was inevitable when helos are hovering all day.

Each fine was in the tens of thousands of dollars and required a huge amount of paperwork and hassle. According to my friend, the inspector was a woman who was possessed with the fervor of her mission to save sweet and dear flying creatures from the ravages of humanity and toxic masculinity.

But wind turbines in California are given a pass. It is estimated that windmills kill 2,000 golden eagles in our state alone. And where is the demon-possessed government inspector? Nowhere to be found. As for the fines, forget it. Liberals love wind power.
