Does the ignorant kid know about how his ancestors became enslaved? They were enslaved by other blacks who then sold them.
Does the ignorant kid know about the tens of thousands of slave owners who were black? Some of them were slave breeders. They sold their own children into slavery.

Of course not. All he ‘knows’ is that his ancestor was torn from the arms of Mother Africa by evil white men, and sent to America to work on plantations because ‘whites were too lazy to do the work themselves’. The idea that slavery was caused by white laziness is pretty pervasive. I am not saying that most blacks see things this way, but many do and blame their problems on white people. I think that was illustrated in today’s ‘reparations’ hearing.
