...I’d agree with you if it were just a drone, but it is not just a drone. The Iranians took our embassy, bound/gagged/humiliated the personnel. Iran has supplied proxy armies with weapons/ordinance to attack our troops on the battlefield, missiles to attack Israel/American troops. They have fast boated/harassed our navel ships in the gulf, captured our swift boat crews and humiliated them...now, attacking tankers/drones...all while secretly developing nuclear weapons and chanting death to America, death to Israel.
I don’t think an immediate attack is warranted just yet, but at some point..it’s gonna happen. Whether to eliminate a nuclear threat or simply self defense...it’s bound to take place.

The downing of a U.S. drone by Iranian provocateurs should serve as a direct warning that Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is willing to serve as a political proxy warrior on behalf of America’s Democrat Socialist party because both would benefit by goading the Trump administration into a sustained regional conflict, thereby provoking strong anti-war sentiments in the run-up to the 2020 elections.
Both know that President Trump would never win reelection if he took the bait because such a move would be highly unpopular in the U.S. Furthermore, Iran would benefit by helping Democrat Socialists regain the White House because they could then reinstate the terms of America’s unilateral surrender “negotiated” by Obama and Kerry under the terms of the much ballyhooed “Iranian Nuclear Deal” and remove U.S. sanctions.
If you don’t believe that such a scenario is possible, then please explain why John F’n Kerry has been defiantly meeting with the Iranian Mullahs in open violation of the Hatch Act, ever since President Trump scrapped their phony “nuclear deal.” I’ll wait. Keep in mind that these are the same traitors who just attempted to orchestrate a coup d’etat against the duly elected President of the United States.

I was under the impression that Iran has already been denied that, mostly anyway. I could be wrong. It wouldn’t be the first time. I’m also not convinced about the “easier” part.
Every time we have hit Iran with sanctions the Germans, French, Swedes, et al find ways around them. Then we play whack a mole with our “allies”.
There are ways short of war that can lay a serious hurt on the Iranian regime. That doesn’t mean we won’t kill people and break things.

...War should be a last resort, and when implemented, should be so horrific it ends quickly. I think Trump understands this concept, perhaps the first POTUS in my lifetime.

IOW, everyone plans their agenda on what they believe is best for them. In the instant matter, I would get on the record any support for what he wants to do from his RINO and dem enemies before he does anything. They will use it as a political football as soon as he does a thing or nothing. They have nothing to run on, don’t let them bag you based on what this pip squeak nation does. If Iran was looking to be seen as an aggressor here, they would have sunk a US ship. They might be crazy but they are not stupid. Consider they are probably getting a feel for our domestic politics from Kerry to boot. IOW, a traitor.

We have a border to secure.. how many mikescof wall would those misslrs fund? When you take into account the exponential dollars saved by every inch of wall over 20 years.. its a no brainer.
I think I will stock up on gold & silver this afternoon. I’m afraid the neocons will get their way again and we will wind up retaliating in way that will push Iran to respond. Then this tit for tat goes on until all out war seems the only option. I wonder how many Iranian sleeper cells managed to slip across our porous Mexican border? And what critical infrastructure they will target? Persians aren’t anywhere near as stupid as Arabs, and are capable of inflicting much more pain than the hapless Iraqis. Hopefully Trump doesn’t fall into this trap he’s being led into, but I wouldn’t count on it.
It would be simple and easy for Iran to take out a tanker or 2 in the very narrow straight of Hormuz. Insurance for tankers, then rockets upward along with the price of oil sending the world (including the US) into economic depression. Iran is perfectly aware of this, thus why they are so cocky. Yes we could easily destroy Iran, but then that ensures Bernie or Pocohontas will be taking over in 2020.(Biden’s senility will become apparent during the debates if not before and he will be a non factor)Do you want to trade Trump for some far left socialist just for the momentary satisfaction of whipping Iran’s butt? In saying if they do that. The ball is in thier court. It is up to them.
I think it all depends on how Trump retaliates as to what Iran’s response will be. Seeing as to how neocons like Bolton and Pompeo are advising him, I expect a misstep that will almost assuredly lead to war. Hope I’m wrong.
