I met a number of mostly male homosexuals in college. I found they were all troubled by one demon or another - addiction, depression, suicide, hyper-sexuality, disease, violence from other gays. That formed my views on it.
Some have even told me - they wish they didn’t have such sexual proclivities.
The gay lifestyle is nothing to be “proud” of.
The guilt demon isn't amenable to rationalization.
The hedonistic behavior of some of my straight friends makes me wonder if his assertion might not be 100% true.

I met a man at church in the early 90s who had come out of the homosexual lifestyle. Unfortunately, he already had HIV and succumbed to AIDS in 96. He told me not to believe the media portrayal of the lifestyle, that its adherents were not happy and that everyone he knew in the lifestyle had a “crutch”. When I asked what he meant by “crutch”, he said an alcohol or drug problem.
There were problems between my friend’s mother and father when he was a boy. They divorced and his father was out of the home. He considered his father to have abandoned him and hated him for it. The mother remarried and then his stepfather was in the home. He hated his stepfather, considering him not his “real father.” His seething hatred for his fathers resulted in him rejecting his own masculinity, he told me. He started taking hormones and started down the path to a sex change operation but stopped.
My friend gave an outstanding witness to the power of Grace to help someone change their life.
I believe the main two causes of the homosexual orientation are deep father issues and/or abuse.
