SOUTH BEND, Indiana (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg on Sunday faced growing fallout over a fatal police shooting in South Bend, an incident that has exposed simmering racial tensions in the Indiana city where he is mayor and which is complicating his presidential ambitions.
Buttigieg answered questions at a frequently raucous and angry meeting with South Bend residents in which he was heckled, booed and screamed at by a minority of audience members. He admitted efforts to make the city's police force more diverse had failed, "and I take responsibility for that."
Buttigieg appeared a week after the fatal shooting of a black man, Eric Logan, by a white police officer exposed longstanding accusations among many African Americans in South Bend that elements within the city's predominately white police force are racist.
The mayor, who is white, has been struggling to attract support for his presidential bid among black voters, a vital constituency in a Democratic nominating contest. The police shooting has laid bare anger among many in South Bend's black community, not just about police conduct, but a belief that many African American neighborhoods have been left behind while Buttigieg has revitalized more affluent, whiter areas.

The democrats have this theory that they will take turns nominating a member of each tribe in the party, and that all tribes will support the nominee, no matter which tribe they are from. This isn't the case by a longshot, and they are now finding it out. Obama was a fluke in that he could unite all of the tribes of the democrat party together and get above average voter turnout. The more democrats stick to this strategy, the more they will lose.

His job performance in his current job, should be evidence of his qualifications to be president. He does not get a pass on that just because he is liberal and just because he is homosexual.

The way we heard it, the guy who was shot was allegedly breaking into vehicles and armed with a knife. This happened like 3 AM in residential neighborhood that had already had a bunch of vehicles broken into.
One thing that is upsetting people is that the cop pulled up — sort of silent running mode — without lights and sirens. So when he exited the vehicle and confronted the suspect his body cam did not turn on automatically. I don’t know if the cop could have engaged it manually.
He said he found the suspect sort of half-in half-out of a car, with someone’s purse and someone’s knife. The suspect said both were his. Then he made a move and the cop felt like the guy was coming at him with the knife.
Nothing good happens on the street at 3 AM.
Well, he should just be forced to name them, over and over.
Being a queer is all him campaign is about, the public will grow tired of it.
Yes, the gay areas are almost always more affluent than the black areas.
