...

McAleenan allegedly leaked a nationwide Immigration and Customs Enforcement raid to the media last week, forcing the administration to cancel the extensive undertaking after months of planning.

"He has proven his political leanings in his actions, including his campaign contributions," Judd wrote in a Fox News op-ed. "By definition, Kevin McAleenan should be considered anti-Trump."

You are basically correct; however, since Trump had been toying with the idea that someday he just might run for president ( not to mention the fact that even before that, he thought that he had a lot of the answers and could do a better job than the bozos in D.C. ), one would have thought that he would have been cultivating influential GOP pols decades before, to learn from them and make "friends" with; especially after President Reagan told him that he hoped that Trump would some day enter politics and the the GOP needed him!

He did NONE of the above, which became blatantly obvious when he began the campaign. And frankly, as time went bye, things grew worse and worse, which surprised and yes, shocked me.

His daughter and s-i-l were SO damned politically naive and uneducated, that they didn't even change their voter registration from Indie, to GOP and hence could NOT vote to Trump in the primary. IDIOTS!

Christie was also a BAD pick! By that time his rep was tarnished badly, he's a loose cannon and NOT all that "loyal" and never was.

Sadly, Trump’s picks for a gigantic range of positions has been his downfall in many different ways and his most egregious flaw.
........................................
Well and truly said, and every word of it. In that sense, he’s his own worst enemy.

Christie was also a BAD pick!

Yes he was.

Would we have been better off if Christie ran the transition instead of Jared Kushner?

Thanks and I've been saying this since the 2016 campaign began and catching HELL here for saying so.

Yes, he IS his own worst enemy; sadly.

Good question. Why is McAleenan still employed? Surely not blackmail. Then what?

Probably not...Christie was extremely tainted by 2016 and only out for HIMSELF.

I think that Mike Huckabee would have been better, but not certain he was "right" for that job either. Still a far better choice than ANYONE Trump had around him.

Maybe because McAleenan (maybe) isn’t the leaker?

How many rotten eggs does this make now? Trump needs to tell whoever is advising him on his picks: “you’re fired!”

This is really getting to be a comedy of errors, and it seems to continue to happen in matters related to immigration. Sad.
