I knew a registered nurse who worked as a Southern Baptist Missionary in Africa.
She had some interesting stories. I remember one story of a young girl who brought her baby in because she was always crying. It turned out that she just had to show her how to burp the baby.
Also said they all wanted injections whether they needed them or not. The witch doctors all gave them shots.
Where are the Blacks and why aren’t they going to Africa to help their brothers and sisters? Why is it whites who go there to help and sometimes get killed for being there?
The Americans who liberated the concentration camp survivors in WWII killed many of them just by feeding them.
Giving regular food to starving folks can kill them because of the shock to their systems.
They need to be gradually refed so their bodies can adjust.
Good judgement comes from bad experience. Africa is a ship hole and has always been so. If you know what is good for you stay away they can’t be helped. The traits of the gene pool are transportable.
Readers could be forgiven for not understanding that some of these parents did not want their children to survive.
