Some of the usuals anti-gun suspects in the Senate have proposed new legislation that would ban suppressors following a shooting in Virginia Beach, Va., in which the perpetrator a handgun fitted with the device.
But the problem is, this particular accessory is already one of the most regulated by the federal government.
The Help Empower Americans to Respond (HEAR) Act is being introduced by Democratic Sens. Bob Menendez (NJ), Dianne Feinstein (CA), Richard Blumenthal (CA) and Tim Kaine (VA), all of whom claim — wrongly — that suppressors are ‘silencers’ in the true sense of the word and that as such, they ‘prevent’ people from knowing that a mass shooting is taking place.
Or something equally fallacious.
“We were reminded how dangerous silencers can be a few weeks ago when a gunman used a .45 caliber handgun fitted with a suppressor to kill 12 Americans in Virginia Beach. What first sounded like a nail-gun ended up being gunfire,” Menendez said in a statement.

There is no legitimate reason for suppressors to be even restricted under the NFA as they are, let alone banned.
They want to deafen us so we can’t hear their incessant whining.

Most people who hear gunfire say that they thought it was “firecrackers”, not nail guns. When they hear firecrackers, they say they thought it was gunfire. Menendez is an idiot. He needs to stick to chasing the little senoritas.

So why aren’t they demanding that other weapons be made louder? Knives must have an attached siren when unsheathed, car horns must be automatically turned on for 20 minutes after an impact, etc.

Then here’s some truth for you. DJT has been a very good president, except on 2A issues. On this he has stabbed gun owners in the back twice, and is poised to do it a third time since he’s already stated he doesn’t like sound suppressors.
