Chinese officials on Monday demanded compromise from the Trump administration, with hopes for an end to a bruising trade war resting on a key meeting this week with China’s Xi Jinping.

China’s vice minister of commerce, Wang Shouwen, told journalists Monday that compromise had to come from both sides.

Stand firm, Mr. President.

For real.

America does not want to continue the sell-out to China, which EVERY president, in both parties, have done for the last thirty years.

Stand up for America, Mr. President.

Demand China agree to what they already agreed to. Before they tried to walk it back.

All the marbles, Mr. Trump.

*************

Yep. We already compromised and had a deal with them. All they have to do is sign it.

China needs this deal a lot more than we do.

There’s nothing left to talk about.

All they need to do is bring their ink pens.

Yep, and if they won't sign it Trump will continue to say with a smile how great XI is, while we watch them decline.

Xi is facing multiple economic and political problems. He would more than likely like to get one of them off his plate about now. We’re catching him at a good time. :)

No - there will be no agreement and IMO that’s the plan.

Continue to break them. For 30 years just like they did us.

The fact that China admits it is willing to compromise is sign of movement on their side.

And that is WINNING. Just a battle and not the war, but more than anything any other US politician has ever brought home.

Looks like another radical increase in tariffs is in order. The message didn’t get through yet.

Nope nope nope. It is NOT a sign that they want to compromise. The Chinese way of negotiations is to seek a deal, then throw it away and start over. It is a frustration technique. They have NO interest in compromising. They consider the status quo vital to their national interest.

The worlds going to hell in a hand basket anyway cease all trade with China. Shift some to England, south and Central America, India and a few other friendly South Asian countries. Japan, South Korea and Taiwan should nuke up. We have rare earth here and the reasons for not mining it are moot these days. Pow. It’ll mean a few years of difficulties but that’s better than the long term alternative.

We should also remember starving large portions of their population is status quo for them too.

“Xi is facing multiple economic and political problems”

.........
Highly unlikely.
If true, China would have already blinked.

The Chinese are (much) better negotiators, than any American negotiator, until Donald Trump.

For thirty years, they have been rolling all over us.

Enough is enough.

The idea they would have already blinked is diputed by their historical way of dealing with such problems.

He’s got a new chip! Pull our assets from the Gulf and Hormuz and let China and India protect the oil flow. We don’t need it anymore. get us out.

i agree and PT knows too. He isn’t angling for a deal - he knows they won’t take one.

We’ll continue to earn money from them while at the same time weakening their economy by breaking supply chains.

They’re done - fork inserted. Their culture just prevents them from realizing it.
