Number Of Refugees Resettled In Idaho Has Declined By Half Since 2016

A new report from the International Rescue Committee, a global non-profit organization, finds that the number of refugees entering the country is at an "historic low."

This is also the case for states like Idaho, where the number of refugees resettled each month is about half of what it was in 2016, according to the International Rescue Committee. In the 2016 fiscal year, Idaho resettled an average of 67 refugees each month. So far this year, the average is 33 per month.

Zeze Rwasama, the director of the Refugee Center at the College of Southern Idaho, says the numbers outlined in the report do not surprise him. Just three years ago, Twin Falls settled around 300 refugees in the city each year. Last year, it was only 90. The organization is projected to resettle 140 refugees in Twin Falls by the end of the calendar year.

But Rwasama says the decrease in refugees admitted to Twin Falls is affecting people who are already living in the community. "Reuniting families was happening faster before, and now it’s taking too long," he says.

All of the refugees resettled in Twin Falls this year have had a family member or friend living in the city already. So when it’s harder for people to come, it means families spend a longer time apart.

I found it interesting that the number of refugees being resettled in Idaho has fallen by half since Trump was inaugurated.

I wonder about this constant refrain of "reuniting families." When my Dad's family immigrated from Germany in the 1920s, they already had a number of relatives in the states. My grandfather deciding to bring his family to the states had nothing to do with "reuniting" the family (at least I never heard that). It was more about fleeing the chaos of Weimar Germany and seeking freedom and opportunity. It seems the "reuniting" argument is a red herring. I don't believe they are always reuniting husband and wife, parents and kids, or adults and their elderly parents. I suspect it more like "reuniting" a person with his long lost cousin twice removed. That is, it's more of a tug-at-the-heartstrings excuse that liberals always make.

Let it be a negative number.

Since the situation that allegedly caused them to flee has been resolved, they are now free to return to their places of origin.

So bammy brought in his savages to destroy what was once beautiful farmland. The damage is done, as they will not be kicked out and will have a lot of time to multiply like rabbits.

We need to reunite the families and then send them back home.

I'm a little unclear on just what is a "refugee".

I suspect that it's just an illegal alien who is coached by "community organizers" to say the right words upon entry, however I must not be using the right key words in my search engine, as I can't find a definitive answer.

Please feel free to enlighten, thanks much.

It’s probably any person in the world who has been coached by a Soros lawyer to say “I am refugee. Asylum.” Those are the golden words.

"Reuniting families was happening faster before, and now it’s taking too long," he says.

Here's an idea: Try uniting them in their countries of origin.

You can buy an airline ticket to darn near anywhere in the world for less than the average monthly cost of a section 8 housing voucher + food stamps + ER medical care.

Stop being the default boarding house for the world and we might actually have the resources to select refugees who are both deserving AND probable assets to the nation.

The problem is that refugees are LEGAL. The government brought them here. Then they seem to turn them over to various aide agencies to “resettle” them. Those agencies make big money doing that.

Yep, imagine my surprise yesterday when our local TV station did a feature about a family of FIVE from the DRC being “settled” and watching a “welcoming video” in the library, accompanied by some morbidly obese woman from an agency I’d never heard of. WHY? Who paid for them to get across an ocean to the middle of the country?

Are you in Idaho?

That is where the Chobani factory is located. The Dems made sure that every public school in America served Chobani yogurt - breakfast, lunch, dinner, and take home for the weekend.

It was Idaho where those three Muslim children sexually abused the little 3 year old girl and peed on her.
