Former Vice President Joe Biden has reportedly pocketed millions in income since exiting the Obama administration, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

Biden, who often remarks from the 2020 presidential campaign trail that he was once the poorest member of the U.S. Senate, has reportedly taken in millions of dollars since leaving the vice presidency, largely from book deals and speaking fees.

The Post reported that public documents revealed Biden's speaking fees sometimes cost as much as $200,000.

The headline is clearly misleading but The Hill often is.

Let’s see his taxes.

I keep seeing reports that he’s the poorest Senator. Net worth of $500,000 or something.

It always amazed me how much people would pay to listen to a freeloading politicians flap their jaws. If you just stand back and point a camera at them, they’ll do it for free.

The headline is wrong. It should say “up to $200,000 per speech.”

The $ 200.000.00 was bribes and payoffs. Biden has never given a speech or speeches that was worth two cents, let alone two hundred thousand dollars.

Bernie Sanders has a net worth of only about $750,000 before he endorsed Hillary for president. He claims most of it came from book sales.

How true. They all love to talk. The unfortunate thing is that most people confuse talk with action; all politicians fully exploit this false perception.

They quickly become professional liars and panderers.

It isn't payment for speeches. It is simply money laundering to pay for political favors.

When Hillary was riding high, she was charging $250,000 or more per speech. Now, she is trying to get butts in seats via Groupon.

The quality of her speech hasn't changed, just her ability to deliver political favors.

But you probably already knew that because your question was rhetorical.

Oddly, I can’t remember reading about Biden giving any speeches for years.

Its some form of kickback. People don’t like paying to hear politicians. Where there’s a politician and money involved somehow there’s a scam going.

Biden earned up to $200,000 for paid speeches after leaving office:.

Sounds like some really stupid people are $200,000 poorer.

His speeches are of the same content and weight as the bent one and his rib.

These are money redistribution, ie, bribes, or just as likely, "rewards" for job well done.

happens to both sides.

Yes and it does. Both sides are playing for the same team. The reason that there is this two party facade is to fool the public.

From " I will do this, this and this, for the country" to "I will do this, this and this for you, and HE will do that, that and that to you"

The gullible lap it up. It is just not on the radar of things to worry about for most citizens, until a few days before the election, when the media frenzy catches the public's attention, even for a short while.

The pols depend on it, then slide for a couple of years, living large.

One cure would be lamp post decoration, but no one has the stomach for it, as it "has not reached the threshold"

Yes. Its one way you do it. The biggest challenge to a former politician is laundering your money into daylight. There is a whole industry, however, that serves their particular needs.
