I’m sure if the races had been reversed, and a 5 year old black kid had been tossed down three stories by a white male, there would have been a nation wide media frenzy and the perp would have been sentenced to life in Minn and would have had an add on federal life conviction to serve if he ever saw parole.
The prosecutors could have added hate crimes charges and vastly increased the time this piece of garbage spends in jail. This crime screams for a hate crime prosecution if there ever was one but it simply does not fit the narrative. To bad the kid was not gay or trans .
I’m not even talking about bias or non bias in the prosecution... I am talking about the law in MN... How is it that 1st degree premeditated attempted murder only carries a maximum sentence of 20 years??? What screwed up law says, you plotted and planned to kill someone... and tried to accomplish it... but you can ever walk the streets again??

That should have a maximum sentencing of LWOP or Execution. Doesn’t mean everyone charged will get the maximum, but how is it the law in MN is set up to a point where the max you can get for this is only 20 years no matter what?
