Dont say America wasnt warned. During the oral arguments for same-sex marriage in 2015, a question came up about the fallout for Christian education.
Asked if religious schools could be punished for holding a natural view of marriage, U.S. Solicitor Donald Verrilli was surprisingly honest. [I]ts certainly going to be an issue. I dont deny that, Justice Alito. It is going to be an issue.
Four years later, that prophecy is coming to pass. Out in Maryland, a Christian charter school was told by state officials that it cant participate in the voucher program anymore because of its biblical beliefs on marriage and sexuality.
The leadership of Bethel Christian Academy was stunned. After all, it relied on that money to serve the schools 280 low-income kids. For two years, those vouchers were what made their option to public school possible.
Now, intolerant bureaucrats are telling Bethel that not only is it barred from the program, but it has to pay back the $100,000 it receivedwhich, to a small academy like this one, is a financial death sentence.
Bethel Christian Academy offers an academically rigorous and caring Christian education in a diverse environment, said the schools attorney from Alliance Defending Freedom.

2015 was the culmination, not the beginning.
It generally began with the Frankfurt School infiltrating seminaries.
It specifically began with clergy selling out to the Johnson Amendment.
War is coming.
Wouldn’t doubt it.
Yep...
Probably so...
I don’t honestly know what steps have been made to avoid that, if you even can.
Theres a few reasons why Christian small group bible study/prayer/worship/community groups are growing fast (3 different ones meeting on my block), and one reason is, you cant stamp them out short of full-on Stalinist jack-booted oppression.
“...free exercise thereof”
The very idea that these children should be getting a real education with Judeo-Christian values is preposterous. They need to be in public schools where they can be fully prepared to become slaves of their betters. That pesky 13th Amendment won’t stop us from getting our slaves back! (/Democrat)
Unfortunately, this assertion is not correct. They SHOULD not be preached, but the LGBT manual is in full teaching force in the schools in this nation.
Good point.
I meet in a Saturday morning study group two or three times per month
Yes, you said what I meant - they (LGBT) have no right to have their beliefs as part of the curriculum.
We CAN prevail in our constant battle against LIEberal evil, but we must stay the course!
They can be a problem as well. The enemy has so infiltrated the evangelical church, through seeker, creeker, Saddleback etc, that small groups can be a case of “the blind leading the blind”...
Sounds like it. Could make a good case in the courts pertaining to Article I, Section 10.
The fight should be for gospel purity in deed as well as in word... Jesus didn’t promise it would always be easy (though at moments of Spirit filled witnessing it may be awfully easy).
Goodbye to the Christianesque, hello to the Christian.
This could tie courts up for years before it is established that you can’t penalize someone for a bureaucratic after-the-fact interpretation....
Except, oops, you already can. Case in point the EPA.
The only sure fix is to divorce from the bureaucracy. We’ve already seen what warpage results from “gay marriage” as its proponents keep on wailing for everything that will make it easy and get social backing.
This has been observed for decades... the question here is, who has the degree of faith that will conduct a vigorous worship activity divorced from Caesar?
The original idea for tax deductibility of contributions was that of treating a church as a charity. But the charity of a church (I’m using KJV terminology here) is actually agape love. This is going to have a lot of theological overtones in it, though it may not look churchy. If this haven is to be safe for Christian churches, then charity-tied-to-anything-legal will have to also qualify for it. I don’t have a huge objection to that, even though some legal things are pretty sinful today. God would rather have benevolence even tied to sin, than to not have it happen at all.
But the political answer to the current pickle deserves to be to kick out the bureaucrats and install new officials who will just quietly can the inimical activity. This at least allows the issue to be run by “We The People.”
