Stopped reading mid-way through the first sentence: Oregon accounts for a tiny slice 0.14 percent of global emissions. . Im fascinated how such a precise number was derived. Seems a bit made up to keep the dialog going.
According to the link at the bottom, the US makes up 14.36% of the world's "emissions". (I assume that's just carbon dioxide.) This means Oregon is to blame for .975% of US emissions, being 1.27% of the US population, and 2.7% of our landmass. Seems like a decently accurate number for a non-industrial state.
