Yeh took a recent round trip Hicksville to Penn station $28.00. Couldn’t get a seat on the return trip. Pay more and get less. Case in point.

That’s exactly it. Favoritism and nepotism and patronage. The state’s AGs need to launch wide investigation into these practices and start locking people up. Better still, they should offer a 90 day amnesty to people who come forward and confess all knowledge of corruptions. No prison if you confess and bring evidence against others. After 90 days, prison, fines, restitution, grand juries.... do that with zeal and the dam will break.
Metro (Feather Your) Nest Commuter Railroad... A good way to get to NYC, it’s cheaper but will take longer. I used use it when I had to go to the city. Cheaper than driving...or Amtrak..
This is exactly the labor culture infused in every industry and enterprise in New York metro area having anything to do, public or private, with infrastructure - whether in transportation or construction.
That culture is part of why infrastructure developments in New York City are the most expensive (per mile) in the world to build and maintain.
Either no federal funds for anything transportation or infrastructure related should go to New York, or those funds that do go should be reduced to no more than a national median amount, per mile, that would be spent anywhere else in the country. New York’s waste should not be subsidized by the rest of the country.

The sad part of it is he died about a year ago at 62 from alcoholism. What a waste.

Yeah, she’s got it all bass ackwards. She should be demanding equal pay for NO work!
