Kentucky Democrat Amy McGrath reversed course Wednesday night on whether she would have voted for Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, just a day after launching her campaign to unseat Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
McGrath tweeted that she would have voted against Kavanaughs confirmation to the high court, after saying in an interview with the Louisville Courier-Journal earlier in the day that she probably would have voted for him.
McGrath told the newspaper that the allegations of sexual misconduct raised by Christine Blasey Ford during the Kavanaugh confirmation process were credible, but she did not consider them disqualifying.
I think its credible but given the amount of time that lapsed in between and from a judicial standpoint, I dont think it would really disqualify him, she said.
When pressed, she said that she would have tended to favor the confirmation.
You know, I think that with Judge Kavanaugh, yeah, I probably would have voted for him, McGrath said.
But after the story was published, McGrath took to Twitter to walk back those remarks.
I was asked earlier today about Judge Brett Kavanaugh and I answered based upon his qualifications to be on the Supreme Court, she tweeted. But upon further reflection and further

Politicians, the huge, Huge majority of them are biggest self serving and cowardly butt suckers on this planet?
They fully deserve the mistrust and distaste assigned them by the public?
Well no - it was a stupid comment on her part.
She essentially said - I believe her allegations that she was raped by him but that wasnt a disqualifying reason for him to be on the Supreme Court and trying to appease both her side and the conservative base she needs to win McConnells votes.
And when called out on it she runs right back into the Democrat fold.
But...but...shes a Marine...
Personally, I think she has it exactly backwards.
First, Blasey-Ford's story was absolutely incredible -- almost insulting to one's intelligence. If Kavanaugh were truly a rapist and did all the other execrable things that he was accused of during the hearings, I'd probably think it was disqualifying, and would strongly consider voting against him for that reason.
Exactly....military service does not mean a person cannot be a slimeball socialist.
Even veteran prisoners of war, like McCain, can be corrupt, lying swamp-dwellers.
There’s only ten counties in Kentucky that Mitch didn’t carry in 2014...all urbanized areas. That’s about half of the vote that the Democrats got in 2008 (Lunsford’s effort) where there was only a six-point spread (Obama’s appeal got a large segment of rare-voters to show up). If you go to 2002, there were only seven counties that carried more significant Democrats votes.
McGrath will be lucky if she can carry 550k votes in the state. Once the Trump topic of capitalism versus socialism comes up....McGrath won’t be able to gain much over Mitch.
But now she is a politician that changes everything. Add to that she is running as a Democrat and that makes her something different. She was in the Marines but now she is no longer a Marine.
She’s a democrat, she’s a liar, she’ll vote to take your guns, kill babies, seize your assets and open the borders.
I saw that written somewhere on the Internet, so it must be true.
She should withdraw from the race immediately.
Ex-Marine according to the MSM
McGrath told the newspaper that the allegations of sexual misconduct raised by Christine Blasey Ford during the Kavanaugh confirmation process were credible,
She must be insane?
‘I was for before I was against’
Memories of Flip Flop John Kerry so spring to mind here........
That is not a woman. Face of a man.
So were Robert Mueller, Da Nang Dick Blumenthal and John Murtha.. There are good and bad people in every large organization.
I am more inclined to think that as a democRAT she is probably trying out various lies to find the one that plays best.
Rank amateur ;-)
Withdraw? Lol, are you kidding?
Being a lesbian, pedophile etc are not disqualifiers if you are a liberal. They are resume` enhancers.
Maybe a Marine, but a Socialist Communist Democrat for sure.
