If they city thinks they can meet federal goals for getting rid of pests in public housing, they must be buggin'. The city has less than three years to drastically slash the number of rats, mice, cockroaches and bedbugs in public housing developments ---SNIP--- The deal resolved a lawsuit brought by federal prosecutors last year alleging substandard living conditions in NYCHA due to mold, lead paint and other hazards, including pest infestations and sets deadlines for those issues to be addressed.

My guess (please note that the only basis of my comments) is that the Feds have a hook into NYCHA only because the housing was federally subsidized. In other words, NYC has wasted federal tax money by not maintaining (or requiring the tenants to maintain) satisfactory sanitation in federally built facilities. Ya take the nice man’s money, ya gotta be ready to pay the piper. The aggravating part is that this did not develop overnight. It has likely festered under several Washington administrations, only no one wanted to step into that cess pool until now.
There should be NO government housing.
What a stupid agreement, they should have forced the Officials in charge to LIVE THERE until it was fixed, see The Super!!
The RATS take political control of anything and before you know it, it is a RAT-infested crap hole.
DeBlasio is the worst of the worst when it comes to doing what's right to make the city run well.
This self-avowed communist and his lesbian wife, have absolutely ruined NYC as a place to live or visit.
The hotels in the city are known for their bed bug infestations. Just what you want to take back to your own home when you leave the Big Rotten Apple.
I don’t know which is worse vermin in those NYCHA houses: the six-legged residents or the two-legged. DumblASSio wants to put more NYCHA crapholes in every neighborhood of NYC, especially the nicer neighborhoods, in the name of equality. “Everybody must get stoned!” is the commie mantra.
