A nationwide crackdown to apprehend thousands of illegal immigrants across the country began late Saturday in the nation's largest city and several other places, according to an official.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) resumed its previously announced plan to apprehend thousands of illegal immigrants who've been given orders to leave the country, targeting people in at least 10 cities. The ICE raids began late Saturday and into the early morning hours on Sunday in "a number of jurisdictions," not just New York City, a senior administration official confirmed to Fox News.
In an exclusive interview on "FOX & friends," Acting ICE Director Matt Albence said while he couldn't speak to anything specifically from an operational perspective, the overarching concern when the agency conducts any sort of enforcement operation is "the safety and security of both our officers that are conducting the operation as well as the public."
“We are doing targeted enforcement actions against specific individuals who have had their day in immigration court and have been ordered to be removed by an immigration judge,” Albence told Fox News’ Griff Jenkins. “We are merely executing those lawfully issued judge's orders.”

I agree. Also the it will have affect when word gets out to those before the try to cross the border. The will not come if the believe they may be arrested and deported.
They should concentrate all their efforts on going up and down the California coast, all day every day. They could probably catch and deport 12 to 15 million in a good month...
And do it during census big time. They won’t answer the door for the census taker so they won’t be counted.
Start rumors that they are deporting anyone without a green card or a current valid visa.
So? They are going to round up “thousands” out of MILLIONS in a show for the sheeple to rally Trump’s base.
Those rounded up will be detained for a hearing to determine IF they have actually broken the law AGAIN and then RE-RELEASED AGAIN pending hearing.
I’ll bet you a cow there are no direct and immediate deportations resulting from any of these show raids.

Perhaps the non-citizens will be less inspired to participate in the census. That would actually be funny if the participation dropped because of concerns over immigration enforcement.

and most of them are in blue states- hence not answering the census will hurt the blue states (i live in a blue state- NY- a real craphole...i will not be answering the census as i have no intention of helping this craphole)...

They are not going to use the census to derive how many and where these folks are.
From a professional point of view the best thing that is coming out of these actions is the now mandated data sharing between agencies which based on my experience with the Government has been a big hurdle.
Now all of the data feeds pulled together will paint a picture of who is where and what have they been up to.Abuse of SSN is one of the big ones as many of the violators are using dead peoples numbers as well as current taxpayers. The Social Security Fund during my last inquiry has over 1.2 trillion dollars of unclaimed funds, much of it because those who filed had SSN mismatches. Add in all of the other data sources and you have what I call actionable information. Merely asking a question without requiring proof gets you one data point, and based upon many of the Freeper posts here some have statd they will refuse to answer in a “protest vote”

Another thing that will be revealed is the direct connection of abused SSN filers and Employers who are themselves violating the law. Add in Voter registration and others and you see just how massive this change is. Surely there are many here illegally who do not file taxes and are paid “under the table” but for those who do, gotcha. add in EBT abuse, multi person filings for services and benefits and this to me is an absolute goldmine of data unavailable otherwise from a Census question. And last now that the feeds are being pulled together you can see anytime you want what is going on, not every 10-20 years.
